Before you brief a marketing or technology project.

Bring these five answers to the first conversation. If one is unclear, it is something to work through together.

  1. What needs to change?

Name the customer problem, sales obstacle or repeated task.

  2. Who is it for?

Identify the buyer, user or team and the decision they need to make.

  3. What do you already have?

List useful content, product data, software and people involved.

  4. What are the constraints?

Note the budget, deadline, approvals and systems the work must fit.

  5. How will you judge the result?

Choose an observable change, such as complete quote requests or fewer manual handoffs.
